Setting yourself apart

I love these words synonyms to exceptional

“rare, unprecedented, unexpected, surprising.”

What if you and your products were just that?

On my way into the office this morning, I was greeted with a nice surprise. Inside of my mailbox, stood a solid black envelope with the address penned in silver ink. I immediately wanted to know who sent it and what was inside. There was a great moment of anticipation.

Exceptional Card

On Christmas, I sent out a tweet and a post about how every single one of those emotions that you are feeling right now need to be funneled into your products for your clients. Make sure they feel joy, surprise, and excitement when they buy from you. I don’t care if you ship a physical object, sell information, or if you are in a service industry – this applies to everyone. Be uniquely you and make sure your clients feel that they are so very important and special to you. Continually and constantly show them how much you value you them!

The sender of the card, Matt Wengerd of Sharp Marketing & A Fine Press, is a true creative and has captured that ideal. Matt knows how set himself and his clients apart from the rest of the crowd. He embraces this idea that to be truly remarkable you must exceptional.

As we go into 2014, I want to challenge each of you to strive to be the exception in your industry. I want you to stop being average and be amazing.
